Christmas Decorations
Hey guys!
As we all know, winter break is around the corner, in 14 days! To help prepare our classroom for the upcoming festivities, we need you guys to bring in any decorations you can. We need ornaments and lights for the tree, to add on to the ones we will be making on Friday.* We also need decorations for the classroom. If you could bring them in by Friday, it would be really helpful. We will also decide between White Elephant and Secret Santa on Friday.
Thanks!!
*We need more ornaments to add on to the ones we will be making on Friday with the pictures we took today. If you haven't taken yours yet, see Ortega ASAP.

Week Recap
Here's a recap of this week.
Monday:
-
- Cans were due and we collected 228 cans with 11N. Ms. Ortega is also turning in 90 more!!
- We voted on our senior sweaters and the finalist is the black one. If you gave Jeanette your size, it means that you intend to buy one, and you will be held responsible. If you do not pay for your sweater, you will be unable to attend Grad Night. The sweaters are $25.
Tuesday:
- We presented our mock bills today and everyone did a great job!
- We had our Thanksgiving party, the first house party of many, and it was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who brought in the wonderful food, it was delicious. Also thanks to Cynthia for bringing Grease and to those of you who helped setup. Pictures of the party, curtesy Sierrah, will be up later this weekend. Have a good weekend and holiday. See you on Monday.

Next Week
Here is an over view on what is going on next week.
M-1*, 2, and 3
T-4**, House***, and Elective
*Finish Poetry Out Loud in Ortega
**Expert Analysis Presentations in Melogno
***Thanksgiving Party
Last day to turn in cans is Monday November 22nd at 8AM.
Remember that everyone is supposed to bring in three cans on Monday. this way, we can have a rough estimate so that Ms. Ortega can match us. We will also vote on our final senior sweater. Here are the two choices.

or

.
Some information on the sweaters; the purple ones are not as thick as the black ones, thus making them less expensive. If you want an idea about the thickness, take a look at sweaters from '04 to '08 to feel the purple one and look at '09 and '10's for the thickness of the black ones. The sweaters are hanging in Purther's classroom. Final cost updates will be available this week.
Thanksgiving Party:
Remember that the Thanksgiving Party is on Tuesday during second block. Drop off any food items in Ortega's classroom before first block. All food need to be 'store bought'. To see what you have signed up for, take a look below.
Have a great weekend!

Canned Food Drive
Hey North House, starting tomorrow there will be a canned food drive competition for a house point. All the senior houses will be colabarating with a corresponding Junior house. Our Junior house will be 11N. We are Team 4. This food drive will not be an easy task, and it will require a lot of hard work on both sides.
The goal of this food drive is to help the needy living in our area; the unemployment rate is nearly 15%, the highest it's been in decades! Jeanette and the Junior class president will be going around during 3rd block on Wednesday.
For now, we will simply put the cans in our classrooms. However if anyone wants to bring in a box, or decorate one, it would help keep our classroom organized. The last day to turn in cans in Nov. 22nd at 8 AM.
Teams:
Team 1: 11W & 12W
Team 2: 11E & 12E
Team 3: 11S & 12S
Team 4: 11N & 12N
Have a nice night!!
